Top 5 iPhone apps for bloggers

2 11 2009

I don’t have all of these because some of these are kind of exspensive.

1. WordPress for iPhone: I have this one, I’m actually using it to write this post. This is a very nice app because you can post, view pages, manage comments, all from your iPod touch or iPhone.

2. Shapewriter: This app has a lite and pro edition and both are paid apps. The lite version is $3.99 and the pro version is $7.99. I don’t have this app, what is does is instead of typing the note, you trace the note with your finger onto the screen and it recognizes the word.

3. Twitterific: I have this one and it’s a very good Twitter client. I switch back and forth from Tweekdeck and Twiiterific. It has a very organized app, I’d have to say it is one of the best free Twitter clients out there.

4. Evernote: I personally love Evernote, it is the best free personal planner out there. It let’s you do about anything, it even sets up an email that you can email links to the app. Although you can only use a certain amount of space for pics, notes, links, per month it is very good.

5. Jott for iPhone: I don’t have this app but I hear it’s pretty good. The app itself is free, but you have to have a paid account on their website. Instead of writing out long emails, Jott is a voice-to-text system. All you do is speak the email and it will appear in your notes.

This article was originally posted by Brian X. Chen on wired.com. It was the top 10 apps for bloggers but I scaled it down. I’ve only used a couple of these apps so I only know how good a couple of them are.

iPhone users still love their iPhone’s compared to the Pre

16 08 2009

In a survey taken with users from the iPhone and the Palm Pre, it looks as if the iPhone is still kicking the Pre’s butt. The survey found that 99% of the 200 iPhone 3GS users surveyed were “satisfied” and 82% of those users were “very satisfied”. A separate survey of 40 Pre users showed that 87% said they were “satisfied” with their phone and 45% “very satisfied”. Even though the iPhone did win the survey, those numbers were the highest ever recorded in the Palm satisfaction surveys. Still, the iPhone does need to be on all networks, or at least Verizon, because they now have 80 million users. Hello Apple, 80 million potential iPhone buyers!!! Well I guess we will just have to wait for the iPhone to come to all networks.

Do you hate it when Apple rejects all the cool apps?

6 08 2009

Well now you can get all those cool apps, if you jailbreak your iPhone, which I don’t reccomend but it’s your iPhone so. Everyone was waiting for Google Voice to be released on the app store, then boom Apple rejects it. Hey Apple why don’t you just rid of iPity, then we won’t get to hear all of those Mr. T sayings we’ve come to know and love. Anyway, back to the rejected apps. A Canadian app store named Cydia, run by Jay Freeman, gives you access to all the apps that Apple has rejected due to offensive material, etc. All you have to do is jailbreak your iPhone and get around Apple and it’s rules and regulations. It’s probably not worth it, but if you just want the iPhone for the apps, I guess you could do it.

Hoping and praying that the iPhone comes to all networks

15 07 2009

I think that we are all hoping and praying that the iPhone will come to all networks(especially alltel/verizon customers). Why do At&t customers get to have all the cool phones and the iPhone? Come on Apple, share the love. What’s your opinion, leave a comment.

There has been a rumor going around that the iPhone may come to all networks. But it’s just a rumor so who knows, it might come true.

Review: Apple iPhone 3GS

6 07 2009

pr_iphone_3gs_f

Apple amazed everyone with the release of the iPhone in 2007. A year later they stepped that up and made it capable of 3G networking. Well now even the 3G is being stepped up. With the new iPhone 3GS, the speed will be 2x as fast and 3.0 software capable. The owners of the iPod touch will be able to buy the 3.0 software this summer for $10. With new features such as a 3-megapixel camera, as to the 2-megapixel camera in the 3G. Also Voice Contol, by holding down the home button you can request who to call or what to hear. Even though the 3G is good, the 3GS in its time will be better.
